I would say that a 1979 with a 5-speed conversion is the best e12 to have. At least in the USA. I'm sure someone will disagree with that though.

79 and earlier still have an aux air valve, but not on the valve cover. The earlier years have it located down and below in between intake runners 3 and 4 as viewed from the driver side. Earlier style is heated by coolant, while the valve-mounted style warms up from just engine heat and a resistive heater.KenB wrote:I used to have an 80 with the aux air valve on the valve cover.
